Life Is A Gift

Today before you think of saying an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion.

Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who went too early to heaven.

Before you complain about your children - Think of someone who desires children but they're barren.

Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn't clean or sweep - Think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before whining about the distance you drive - Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another - Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face and thank God you're alive and still around.

Life is a gift, Live it, Enjoy it, Celebrate it, And fulfill it and most of all LOVE IT!!!

Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge.
The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.
The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said,
"Nothing, I just helped him cry."

When there is nothing left but God, that is when you find out that God is all you need. Take 60 seconds and give this a shot! All you do is simply say the following small prayer.
Father, God bless all my friends in whatever it is that You know they may be needing this day! And may their life be full of your peace, prosperity and power as he/she seeks to have a closer relationship with you.
Amen

Hymn D 113

Dear Sr…. each day, life offers you a blank page in the book of your existence. Your past is already written and you can’t change that, in its page you can find your history, some pages have soft colours, others darker shades. Beautiful remembrance of happy times.

Today you have the opportunity to write another page. It’s up to you to choose the colours it will have, for even in adversity, you can ass soft pastels of serenity to turn it into a beautiful experience.

It all depends on you will and optimism to transform today’s page in the book of your life into a page that you will treasure as a beautiful remembrance in the future.

Thank God for this gift of today and the opportunity to turn this day into a beautiful new page in the book of your existence. May you days be full of Joy and Peace. You are a gift to the world a divine work of art signed by God.

We want to wish you well and so we pray to the Lord. Let us now put forth our praise and petitions before the Lord.

Psalm 132: “How good it is to live in harmony

”

.
How good and wonderful it is for sisters to live in harmony!
How good it is to live united, like the grapes in just one bunch!
How sweet it is to feel the presence of the brothers and sisters!
How wonderful it is Lord Jesus, to live in community!

T.All in communion, we are like a seasoned corn.
All in communion, we are like the honey-comb.
All in communion, we are like the foundation of a house.
All in communion, we are like the grains of sand which form one big desert.

BLord Jesus, you wanted to make us members of a group.
Each day you invite us to the table of Your word and your bread.
You gathered us all with the strength of Your Spirit of love.
You are the centre and the strength of our lives!

TLord Jesus, Love is like a precious and expensive perfume.
Love is like the light that opens out paths at night.
Love is like the timely rain that falls in our fields.
Love is like the adventure in which we venture fearlessly.

C You called twelve friends to live with you.
Gave them service and sharing as way of life.
Challenged each one to forget themselves.
You proposed to them the ideal of choosing the last place.

TLord Jesus, love is like the rose in Spring.
Love is like the clear and transparent look of a child.
Love is like the purity and the clarity of the stars.
Love is like the morning song of the birds.

DYou gave us a new commandment, for new heart.
You made of love the supreme law of Your Kingdom
You gave us a law to live in communion.
Your law is for the hearts that know to love without a reward.

TLord Jesus, love is as free as a sea- gull flying in the air.
Love is as strong as the burning fire if the furnace.
Love is as flexible as the clay in our hands.
Love is as faithful as the mother who gives herself totally.

ELord Jesus, nailed to the cross, You created community.
We were born from your open side with water and blood flowing
You loved us to the full, giving us life without measure.
You recreated us as your children, in the house of God.

TLord Jesus, love is as beautiful as the eyes of a happy child.
Love is soothing like the foam of the waves on a rock.
Love is as clear as the snow that vests the high mountains.
Love is sincere, ever ready and steadfast, at all time.

FLord Jesus, you told us that nobody has greater love
Than the one, who indeed lays down his life for his friend.
Teach us to be fruitful in our fraternal relationship
And to learn to die, like the grain of wheat, that I may give life.

THow good and wonderful it is for brothers and sisters to live in harmony!
How good it is, Lord Jesus

Psalm of the Love of God

Bless the Lord, oh my soul, from the depths of my being.
Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and do not forget His innumerable benefits.
Bless the Lord, oh my soul, because He has been generous towards me.
Bless the Lord, oh my soul, because He has filled my life with peace.

The Lord has forgiven all your sins: you are purified.
The Lord has healed you from all your infirmities: you are saved.
The Lord has removed you from the deep abyss: you are free.
The Lord Lifted you up, after your fall: you have been redeemed.

The Lord crowns you, day by day, with love and tenderness.
The Lord fills your existence with good things and gifts.
The Lord keeps you as the pupil of His eyes.
The Lord renews your youthfulness like that of an eagle.

Bless the Lord, oh my soul, for He performs works of justice.
Bless the Lord, oh my soul, who upholds the oppressed.
Bless the Lord, oh my soul, who shows His paths to those who seek Him.
Bless the Lord, oh my soul, who works wonders in our favour.

The Lord has always been gracious and compassionate towards you.
The Lord has always been slow to anger and very loving, at every fall of yours.
The Lord did not keep anger at your betrayal of His presence.
The Lord did not treat you as your faults and sins deserved it.

The love of the Lord, oh my soul, is higher than the heavens.
The love of the Lord, oh my soul, is more extensive than the seas.
The love of the Lord, oh my soul, is stronger than the mountains.
The love of the Lord, oh my soul, is more firm than our rebellion.

Bless the Lord, oh my soul, for the tenderness of His hands.
Bless the Lord, oh my soul, who is more kind than that of our mother.
Bless the Lord, oh my soul, who knows how fragile is our clay.
Bless the Lord, oh my soul, who understand the frailty of our heart.

The Lord knows the infirmity of the human heart.
The Lord knows that our life is like the grass of the fields.
The lord understands the frailty of our wings.
The Lord knows that man is like the dust of the earth.

The love of the Lord, oh my soul, is eternal and everlasting.
The love of the Lord, oh my soul, is for all those who respects and love Him.
The love of the Lord, oh my soul, does justice to all His children.
The love of the Lord, oh my soul, is for those who keep His covenant.

Bless the Lord, oh my soul, in union with the choirs of angels.
Bless the Lord, oh my soul, in the assembly of people.
Bless the Lord, oh my soul, the only Lord of history.
Bless the Lord, oh my soul, in all the recesses of your life.

Bless the Lord, Oh my soul!
Bless Him with all your heart!

Bless the Lord, oh my soul!
His boundless love, deserve our hymn of praise!

Thanksgiving for the gift of life

Author: Joseph of Jesus and Mary

Blessed be the name of God Almighty who has created life for his pleasure and glory. Blessed be God who formed me in the womb and knew me before I came into being. Blessed be the great gift of life which I enjoy thanks to the care of my parents who brought me up by God's will.

Lord my God, author and preserver of life: I thank you for allowing me to exist, I thank you for having created me out of nothing and for making me a unique being, full of gifts that reflect your image. I am sorry Lord that I have not lived according to your desires but according to my weak sinful nature. I repent of my past life and I consecrate to you my life anew to thrive in your Presence and in the designs of your Holy Will.

Thank you Lord for the world, this wonderful stage of life which you present to us daily.
I thank you Lord for the lives of all my brothers and sisters both alive and dead. They will be my company in eternity before the vision of your Glory. Thank you Lord for the gift of innocent life which has been wasted because of our negligence, please forgive us Lord for our sins.

Thank Lord you for all the elements that accompany us and permit our existence. Thank you Lord for the air that we breath, for the blood that runs through our veins, thank you Lord for the gift of time and space. Thank you for the wonderful universe that is beyond our comprehension, for the stars, the planets and the constellations.

Thank you for our intelligence, for the gifts that you have bestowed upon every one of us. Thank you Lord because you call us your children even though we do not deserve that title.

Thank you Lord because " I am who I am because You are who you are ".

Thanksgiving for the Gift of Life

Heavenly Father, You are the giver of ALL life. I thank You, Lord, for the gift of life which You have given me. Teach me to recognize the sacredness of my life. Teach me to honor the sacredness of others. Remove from me the selfishness that prevents me from experiencing the majesty of each soul. Help me to recover from the indignities that I have suffered and which have diminished my self respect. Restore in me the conscious understanding that Your Holy Spirit lives in me and that all my actions and thoughts should reflect the holiness of Your indwelling Presence. Sanctify my life, Heavenly Father, that I might be a blessing to all whom I meet. Let this world be a brighter place because You reached out to others through my simple acts of kindness. Help me to believe in my own goodness that I may resist temptation and celebrate Your gift of life this day. Amen.

Holy hour for courage

As we come before the Lord, let us ask him for the grace of courage today to be like him -enduring and strong to live this present moment in his grace and ever be faithful to the values He has given us through his birth, life and death.

Let us first thank him courageously for all that he has given us

Through the night the angels kept
Watch beside me while I slept;
Now the dark has passed away,
Thank you, Lord, for this new day.

We thank You, Lord, and worship You with gladness;
We praise Your Name and lift our hearts in song;
For You are good, Your love endures forever,
Your faithfulness continues all day long.
You’ve lavished us with every spiritual blessing;
We thank You, Lord, and praise You now in song.
We thank You, Lord, for everyday provisions,
For daily food, for clothes and shelter too,
For health and strength and grace for every trial,
For this free land where we can worship You.
You crown each day with Your abundant goodness;
We thank You, Lord, and lift our praise to You.
We thank You, Lord, for giving us salvation.
You sent Your Son that we might be forgiv’n.
Far as the east from west, our sins have vanished;
Now justified, we’re citizens of Heav’n.
You’ve sealed us with Your promised Holy Spirit;
We thank You, Lord, for love so freely giv’n!
We thank You, Lord, for giving us the Bible
To guide our steps, if we’ll but hear and read,
And for Your Church, a worldwide living body,
That gives sweet fellowship and meets our need.
We are encouraged, and we worship gladly;
We thank You, Lord, You’ve made us rich indeed!
I thank you for the new day. Thank you for the good sleep and rest I had, and for the protection. Help me to please you in all things today. Keep me from all evil. Give me wisdom. Bless my parents, children, family and friends. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

Let us hear a story of an ordinary man who became extraordinary with his faith and courage.
Years ago a hardworking man took his family from New York State to Australia to take advantage of a work opportunity there. Part of this man's family was a handsome young son who had aspirations of joining the circus as a trapeze artist or an actor. This young fellow, biding his time until a circus job or even one as a stagehand came along,
worked at the local shipyards which bordered on the worse section of town.
Walking home from work one evening this young man was attacked by fivethugs who wanted to rob him. Instead of just giving up his money the young fellow resisted. However they bested him easily and proceeded to beat him to a pulp. They mashed his face with their boots, and kicked and beat his body brutally with clubs, leaving him for dead. When the police happened to find him lying in the road they assumed he was dead
and called for the Morgue Wagon.
On the way to the morgue a policeman heard him gasp for air, and theyimmediately took him to the emergency unit at the hospital. When he was placed on a gurney a nurse remarked to her horror, that this young man no longer had a face. Each eye socket was smashed, his skull, legs, and arms fractured, his nose literally hanging from his face, all is teeth were gone, and his jaw was almost completely torn from his skull. Although his life was spared, he spent over a year in the hospital. When he finally left, his body may have healed but his face was disgusting to look at. He was no longer the handsome youth that everyone admired. When the young man started to look for work again he was turned down by everyone just on account of the way he looked. One
potential employer suggested to him that he join the freak show at the circus as The Man Who Had No Face. And he did this for a while. He was still rejected by everyone and no one wanted to be seen in his company. He had thoughts of suicide. This went on for five years.
One day he passed a church and sought some solace there. Entering the church he encountered a priest who had saw him sobbing while kneeling in a pew. The priest took pity on him and took him to the rectory where they talked at length. The priest was impressed with him to such a degree that he said that he would do everything possible for him that could be done to restore his dignity and life, if the young man would promise to be the best Catholic he could be, and trust in God's mercy to free him from his torturous life. The young man went to Mass and communion every day, and after thanking God for saving his life, asked God to only give him peace of mind and the grace to be the bestman he could ever be in His eyes.
The priest, through his personal contacts was able to secure the services of the best plastic surgeon in Australia. There would be no cost to the young man, as the doctor was the priest's best friend. The doctor too was so impressed by the young man, whose outlook now on life, even though he had experienced the worst, was filled with good
humour and love The surgery was a miraculous success. All the best dental work was
also done for him. The young man became everything he promised God he would be. He was also blessed with a wonderful, beautiful wife, many children, and success in an industry which would have been the furthest thing from his mind as a career, if not for the goodness of God and the love of the people who cared for him. This he acknowledges
publicly. The young man. Mel Gibson.
His life was the inspiration for his production of the movie "The Man Without A Face."
Be Confident, as long as there is life, there is room for hope.
